The Franklin Parish Catfish Festival will hold its 22nd annual festival on April 12, 2008 in downtown Winnsboro, Louisiana.
As is usually the case, a number of associated events are held each year in conjunction with the festival, including a softball tournament, a "fly-in" by RC airplanes, and an antique car show. Two other popular events– a Corvette Show and a motorcycle show –are again scheduled in 2008.
A total of three entertainment stages with music ranging from bluegrass to gospel to rock and roll will again be a part of this year’s festival. These all-day stages are sure to entertain, and are a big part of the excitement surrounding the Catfish Festival.
Last year, over 5,000 pounds of pond raised catfish were served to the estimated crowd of 20,000 who attended what’s known as the largest one-day festival in the state of Louisiana.
Arts and Crafts, Commercial, and Food Vendors who have participated in past festivals should receive their information packet by November 15th. All vendors are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible because demand is expected to be high again for the 2008 festival, and booth space will again be limited.
